Spring at The Tetley

Journal 17 Feb 2023

We’ve had a few rays of sunshine and our thoughts are turning to spring!

Join us at The Tetley over the next few months to see fantastic free art exhibitions; get creative at our range of courses and classes; or feast with us at an amazing line up of supper clubs and food and drink events.

We’re also excited to announce the artists participating in our Antibodies project, a collaboration with HH Art Spaces, Goa, supported by British Council’s India/UK Together Season of Culture.

Plus, there’s also a chance to see the four shortlisted proposals for The Tetley x Tower Works commission in a new exhibition opening at Mustard Wharf.

Current exhibitions

We recently opened two new exhibitions.

The Living and the Stale is artist Samra Mayanja’s first major solo exhibition, exploring what it means to lose and be lost.

Andrew Black’s film On Clogger Lane explores the meeting points of passivity and protest, public and private, past and present, all coincident in the same patch of ancient land.

New public art commission

The Tetley and Legal & General are delighted to present four public art proposals for Tower Works by artists Phill Hopkins, Benaiah Matheson, Yelena Popova and Zoë Power.

Visit Mustard Wharf 3 March – 7 May to see an exhibition of the four shortlisted proposals. The selected artwork will be unveiled in summer 2023.
