We’re thrilled to share that Yorkshire Contemporary and Rowland Road Working Mens Club were awarded the ‘Inspiring Creativity Through Play, Arts & Culture’ Award at the Child Friendly Leeds Awards 2026 for Rowland Road Play Patch!
The award recognises the Play Patch, a collaborative project that has transformed a once-derelict and unused space adjacent to the club into a vibrant, adventure playground right in the heart of Beeston.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this project and special thanks to all our amazing volunteers, children, young people, families and partners who make this work possible.
Congratulations to all of the amazing 2026 winners and nominees! As the awards celebrated their 10th anniversary, we were truly honoured to be recognised alongside so many inspiring people and organisations working to make Leeds the best city for children and young people to grow up in.
The Rowland Road Play Patch is open every Saturday from 11.00am–2.00pm, simply drop in!
