Yorkshire Contemporary is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our team as a Marketing and Development Coordinator. This key role is responsible for supporting our marketing and communication activities, assisting with fundraising applications and reporting to funders.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Marketing and Development Coordinator, you will assist in the planning and execution of marketing and communication strategies for exhibitions, engagement, outreach events and fundraising. Ensuring high-quality, responsive, and relevant content across all marketing channels and media, you will monitor engagement metrics and contribute to marketing reports to evaluate the success of our activities. You will create effective and engaging copy and content, as well as maintain digital channels to ensure their accuracy and currency.

A critical aspect of this role involves actively engaging with the public to reach a diverse range of audiences, from local families to dedicated culture enthusiasts. You will participate in community outreach initiatives and represent our gallery at various events, fostering connections and promoting our programmes to a broad spectrum of individuals.

In addition to marketing support, you will support the preparation of fundraising applications, contributing to  narratives, and compiling necessary documents. This role also involves helping to create grant reports and other documentation required by funders, maintaining organised records of fundraising activities, and collaborating with the Director, Head of Programme & Engagement, and others to align fundraising efforts with overall marketing strategies.

About you:

You will be a highly-organised self-starter who enjoys varied workload and meeting deadlines. You will be great with words, both in creating formal written documents and producing engaging content on social media. You will have the IT skills needed to update a website using WordPress and produce digital content and will be keen to learn anything that is new to you. Ideally you will have some experience of marketing or fundraising in a creative or social charity and an interest in contemporary art. Formal qualifications or prior experience in a gallery or visual art organisation is not required.

Yorkshire Contemporary is committed to ensuring an equitable working environment. We actively seek a broad membership of staff and trustees to reflect a multitude of experiences and backgrounds. We particularly encourage applications from people of colour, D/deaf or disabled and LGBTQ+ candidates.
