Pyramid artists Stephen Harvey, Ria and Liam Hirst responded to work produced within the walls of Meanwood Park Hospital, which has never been shared with the public.
Stephen Harvey’s work unearths and excavates the now defunct first home of Pyramid: Meanwood Park Hospital. His textiles piece together, using the reoccurring motif of bones, to remember the lives spent and lost within the walls of the hospital.
Ria’s work illustrates, through the medium of sculpture, what it feels like to be locked in a box within an unfair system.
Liam Hirst’s miniature models are made from found fragments discovered on the abandoned Meanwood Hospital site. They reference past and future buildings associated with people with learning disabilities.
Pyramid of Arts invests in people with learning disabilities through the discovery, development and disruption of the arts.
